Coming together to feed America
JLL Atlanta partners with Feeding America to provide meals for families in need.
In late April, Mike Sivewright, JLL Atlanta Market Leader, issued a challenge to his region: come together to raise $15,000 for Feeding America, which would in turn provide 150,000 meals to families in need.
“Millions of Americans are out of work and experiencing food insecurity due to the COVID-19 crisis,” said Mike. “That makes the support we can provide throughout our communities more important than ever.”
It took less than a week for team members throughout the region to surpass the initial goal. On April 27, Mike increased the targeted amount to an ambitious $35,000. Fourteen leaders across all business lines in the market offered to provide matching funds, in addition to JLL’s company match.
When the campaign ended three weeks later, the team announced it had raised $56,515 for Feeding America, which will provide 565,150 meals for those in need.
“I had the utmost faith that our team would unite around this cause,” said Mike. “Feeding America does incredible work to ensure people can put food on their tables and children won’t go to bed hungry at night. I’m so thankful we were able to come together as a team to make the lives of so many families just a little bit easier.”
