Jones Lang LaSalle Philippines, Inc. has obtained the ISO 41001:2018 certificate in Facilities Management from the BQSR Certifications, Inc., a globally recognized ISO Certification body accredited by the International Accreditation Service (IAS) USA, a member of International Accreditation Forum (IAF). The IAF’s accreditation bodies are responsible for issuing quality certificates, benchmarking, and standardization at a global level.

“Our roadmap for certification spanned 32 weeks. The journey to receiving it began in October 2021, but pre-works were done as early as August 2021,” says Rio Mendones, Group Account Manager of JLL Philippines’ Wok Dynamics team and ISO Manager for JLL Philippines.

Pre-work included creating a core team to ensure that standards are in place to achieve the certification. The task was headed by Rommel Agoncillo, JLL Philippines’ Head of Work Dynamics. ISO leads include Jun Salado, JLL Philippines’ Operations Director for Work Dynamics, and Mark Pressley, JLL Philippines’ Group Account Director for Work Dynamics, as well as Mendones.

“The process that followed was to coordinate with sites to improve and align our process from development to implementation with the standards for ISO,” says Mendones. “The process implementation happened in a number of sites that we manage, and the audit happened in the main office.”

Facility Management Services

The ISO:41001:2018 is a global standard that recognizes the ever rapidly growing facilities management environment. The structured ISO 41001 framework demonstrates the ability of the facility management function to effectively address new challenges which support the organization’s business goals:

  • Improved safety, health, and wellness for workers
  • Increased effectiveness and improved productivity
  • Improved communication, facility management requirements and methodology
  • Greater consistency of services.

“The Certification to ISO 41001 demonstrates that facility management services can be delivered effectively and efficiently,” says Agoncillo. “This required improvement in standardizing our approach in Facilities Management, as well as improving organizational cost benefits and consistently meeting the needs of stakeholders.”

The core team credits JLL Philippines’ Engineering, Finance, Sourcing & Procurement, EHS, Account Management, Solutions Development, HR, Learning & Development and JLL FM Site operations teams as integral to achieving the ISO 41001:2018 certification.
